Daily Devotional - Day 34

Transparency

If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.  If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleans us from all unrighteousness.

Prayer:  

If there is any place of darkness in our hearts today, let us surrender it to the one who sees us just as we are.  In our culture of cynicism, division, and wars many of us carry unforgiveness – even hatred toward a person or group.  One of the greatest hinderances to us walking in the freedom of forgiveness is our tendency to carry bitterness and unforgiveness in our hearts.  Ask God to reveal anything we have kept hidden.  Where necessary reach out to others to seek forgiveness for carrying bitterness and passing judgement.
